The Buffalo Bills have named Pete Carmichael as their next offensive coordinator, completing a coaching overhaul after firing Sean McDermott and promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach.
The report comes from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, who notes Carmichael’s reunion with Brady. Brady previously worked under Carmichael during Carmichael’s 15-year run with the New Orleans Saints in 2017-18.
Carmichael most recently served as a senior offensive assistant with the Denver Broncos for the 2024-25 season before arriving in Buffalo.
The hire links Brady’s new Bills regime with a veteran play-caller who has extensive experience in New Orleans’ offense, potentially bringing some of that system’s principles to Buffalo.
This move marks another step in Buffalo’s ongoing coaching transition after its latest Divisional Round setback, as the team seeks to build around its new leadership and offensive philosophy.
