Brady’s early focus centers on building a capable coaching staff, with the offensive coordinator position identified as a potential top hire as he weighs candidates who can implement his scheme.
One name that has surfaced in Bills OC discussions is former Bills quarterback Davis Webb, who interviewed for head coaching jobs, including with the Raiders, and could still be in line for the Bills’ OC job despite Brady’s hiring.
Webb’s background includes time as Josh Allen’s backup in Buffalo, a stint with the Giants, and most recently serving as the Broncos’ passing game coordinator, making him a plausible fit for Brady’s offense.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Webb withdrew from consideration for the Raiders head coaching job hours after Brady spoke to reporters, clearing the way for other opportunities. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added that Webb is seen as a prime candidate for the Broncos’ OC job and has drawn several OC requests.
With Webb drawing interest from multiple teams, the Bills could face competition if they pursue him for OC. Still, his familiarity with Josh Allen and Bills personnel could position Brady to land a familiar, high-potential option as he builds his staff.
