Former Raiders standout Kirk Morrison shared his take, saying Kubiak “checks a lot of the boxes” and praising the Seahawks’ offense under his guidance, not only in the NFC Championship game but throughout the season.
In Seattle, Sam Darnold has thrived under Kubiak’s system, posting a 99.1 passer rating with 4,048 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 17 games this season, according to StatMuse.
Morrison emphasized that Kubiak’s approach is a system and scheme designed to get players open and provide adaptable options based on what the defense presents, noting the playoff success and the potential impact for a Raiders offense.
On the Raiders’ head-coach search, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on Jan. 27 that the team remains in the interview phase and has not yet decided on a head coach, with another interview planned this week.
Separately, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Davis Webb, Broncos passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, who interviewed for Raiders and Bills head-coaching roles, has since received interview requests for offensive coordinator positions with the Eagles, Giants and Ravens.
The ongoing updates underscore the Raiders’ continued evaluation of Kubiak and other candidates as they navigate a pivotal decision in the franchise’s leadership search.
