Mosley is a two-time national champion who arrived at Alabama as a walk-on in 2014, earning a scholarship in 2016 after proving his mettle in the program’s shadow. He shared the field with his brother CJ Mosley, a former Tide standout, and helped Alabama secure its titles as a contributing defender.
Following his playing days, Mosley went undrafted in 2019 but spent time with the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals before returning to Tuscaloosa as an analyst and eventually rising to assistant defensive line coach. In that role, he mentored players such as Tim Keenan III, LT Overton, and Justin Eboigbe.
Mosley’s departure adds to a notable staff thinning at Alabama, where head coach DeBoer is navigating the churn just months into his third year. Earlier exits included wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard to Oregon State and quarterback coach Nick Sheridan to Michigan State, reflecting the broader turnover around DeBoer’s tenure.
Senior Bowl practice in Mobile saw Tim Keenan III defend DeBoer amid scrutiny, praising the coach for guiding Alabama through adversity in two seasons and acknowledging the high standards inherited after the Saban era.
Stanford’s 2025 season finished 4-8, though the Cardinal closed with an upset of rival Cal to snap a four-year losing streak in the Big Game. The hiring of Mosley marks another step in Tavita Pritchard’s effort to stabilize a program rebuilding after taking over in late 2025.
