Reflecting on watching the AFC Championship Game from the sideline, Nix called the experience “helpless” but said it should motivate him more. He emphasized that adversity can be a catalyst and expressed excitement about getting ready for next year.
The quarterback also pushed back on concerns that the injury could limit him as a running quarterback, stating clearly that it will not affect his training or his season. He reiterated that he will begin training when he had planned to, noting there was no disruption to his schedule.
Addressing questions about potential preexisting issues, Nix said there was nothing predisposed and suggested that some information may have been misunderstood. He pointed out that he has played four straight seasons and more than 60 games without missing time.
