Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported via X that Baltimore has filed to interview Doyle, and the job would reportedly put him in charge of play-calling duties under Ravens defensive coordinator-turned-offensive coordinator Jesse Minter, behind quarterback Lamar Jackson. The move would present a major opportunity for Doyle and a significant development for the Bears.
Windy City Gridiron’s Jacob Infante echoed that sentiment, noting that if Doyle lands the Ravens job, it would be a substantial opportunity for him and a tough loss for the Bears, who have had Doyle as their offensive coordinator since 2025.
Doyle’s prior interactions with the Eagles also factored into the decision dynamics. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Doyle’s interview with Philadelphia went “exceptionally well,” and Dianna Russini of The Athletic had suggested the Eagles would likely prioritize play-calling experience in this cycle.
For Chicago, head coach Ben Johnson has already cleared Doyle’s interview with the Eagles, and would presumably do the same for a Ravens interview if Doyle pursued it. Johnson, who previously called plays for the Bears, is expected to continue handling play-calling in Chicago, though Doyle’s youth—he was the NFL’s youngest OC at 28—could influence future head-coaching discussions.
Doyle’s background includes stints under Sean Payton, first as an offensive assistant with the Saints (2019-22) and then as a tight ends coach with the Broncos (2023-24) before joining the Bears last spring. If he accepts a Ravens offer, the move would mark a notable shift in the ongoing/offseason coordinator market, with several young play-callers now drawing head-coaching consideration.
