Sanders will take the spot of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who is playing in the Super Bowl and thus ineligible for the Pro Bowl.
In his rookie season, Sanders appeared in eight games and started seven, finishing with 1,400 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while taking over for Dillon Gabriel.
The selection is notable given Sanders’ relatively limited workload during his first NFL season, making his Pro Bowl nod somewhat surprising to observers.
Despite the honor, Sanders’ long-term role as the Browns’ starting quarterback remains unclear heading into the offseason. More updates are expected as the Browns evaluate their quarterback situation.
