Popular Browns coach to receive a second interview as Stefanski’s replacement.

The Cleveland Browns aren’t finished with Jim Schwartz as their head coach candidate. Although he’s drawn interest from the Baltimore Ravens, he remains in the running to replace fired coach Kevin Stefanski, who brought Schwartz to Cleveland in 2023. The team plans a second head coach interview with Schwartz next week as they begin narrowing the field. 🧭💼🔄

Todd Monken is also set for a second head coaching interview, per ESPN’s Peter Schrager, and could join Giants coach John Harbaugh as the OC in New York unless he lands a head coaching gig himself. 🔁🧠🏈

In the first round, Cleveland has interviewed Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase and Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. Still to come are Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski and Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula. 🗂️🔎⚙️

Schwartz’s candidacy comes with some risk given his previous head coaching stint with the Lions (2009-13: 29-51), though he’s long been regarded as a top defensive mind. The Browns’ defense has thrived under him, rising from 26th to as high as second in Pro Football Focus rankings. 🛡️📈🏈
